During the first quarter of 2017, we have consulted and managed (3) website projects and each one was addressing a different need of our clients. In our role as the project managers, we identify a plan of action and help implement changes efficiently for our clients. We cannot put the same size box around the solutions we provide; we understand the challenges of each project, and adjust accordingly. Here, we outline the latest upgrade we made to the multiple websites for the Law Offices of Kenneth Hiller.
Our Original Setup of KennethHiller.com
The first thing we did for Kenneth Hiller several years ago was to “clone” his existing website and move it over to the WordPress platform. This was a very technical process that we are quickly summarizing. It was important to have a clear understanding of all the pages and navigation links that the “home page” provided to visitors. Simply put, we had to re-create all of those links to point to a duplicate page now within the WordPress admin dashboard. This allows us to build and update information within their user-friendly content management system. In this first phase, we kept the exact same visual look of their existing website, but moved the backend controls to WordPress, the most popular open-source platform for website development.
Template Refresh for KennethHiller.com
We managed that website for a few years, until we began the process to completely refresh the styling of the website theme and bring the overall feel closer to their brand vision. Ultimately, we simplified the navigation to feature key practice areas and installed a new blue theme in early 2017. Here, we worked from the front page backwards. We got a look we liked for the main page, and we worked to the backend to update the existing pages within the upgraded stylesheet.
Just like during the earlier “clone” phase, our attention to detail insured that much of the navigation and internal pages remained the exact same for the search engines, but the visual look was more welcoming and accessible.
Responding to Emerging Trends & Evolving Client Needs
Alongside our clients, we identify and educate ourselves about the coming trends that may help us drive more exposure to the brands we represent. For example, we have worked to increase the amount of video content within our clients’ websites, and Kenneth Hiller’s office already had some content available from commercials. We created new content by working with attorneys to answer key questions for potential clients. Strategies like these are a direct response to the trends highlighting how people increasingly like to consume content, especially as it relates to smart phones and mobile tablets.
We enjoy working with the attorneys at the Law Offices of Kenneth Hiller, and we look forward to continually improving the look and performance of their brand reputation online. If you could use similar help, contact Tony or Joe today to setup a free consultation.
